We hope you and your loved ones are safe in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. The devastation this storm has caused throughout our community is heartbreaking.
The Opera Naples family is humbled by the outpouring of concern and support we have received in the days following Hurricane Ian. The Wang Opera Center sustained significant damage from the storm, experiencing between 2- to 3-feet of storm surge in the building. While our team worked swiftly to minimize the impact, we will need to make significant repairs to our center before we can return to our home stage.
We have made the difficult decision to adjust our schedule, including canceling the remainder of our film series, for the coming season. While difficult, these adjustments allow our team to better focus on restoring our center in hopes of welcoming you back later this season. You can find the updated schedule by visiting the 2022-23 Season page.
Although we’ve had to adjust our schedule, we also know the arts play an important role in the healing process. We look forward to working with community partners to ensure that we can continue to provide community members with access to the arts. This has been an unprecedented time to take over the helm at Opera Naples. I am truly grateful and inspired by our team of professional staff and volunteers.
Yet, we cannot do this alone. Now, more than ever, we need your support to ensure we can continue to provide vital access to the arts. Please join us for ¡Olé! A celebration of Spanish Song special Fundraising event in support of the Opera Naples Rebuilding Fund after the devastating impact of Hurricane Ian. Or consider a contribution today to help us rebuild, recover and fulfill our mission for years to come.
Opera Naples is committed to continue to be the jewel of arts and culture in Southwest Florida.
