Aaron McKone, deemed a “rising star” and praised for his “ardent tenor,” is originally from Rock Hill, SC. In November, Aaron made his debut with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, in collaboration with Paris’ Opéra-Comique, portraying Laërte in Thomas’ Hamlet. Aaron was recently a Wolf Trap Opera Studio Artist, where he covered the titular role in Gounod’s Faust and was a featured soloist in a collaborative concert with the National Orchestral Institute and Festival. Aaron has also performed with the Spoleto Festival in Charleston, SC, where he performed in the world premiere of Rhiannon Giddens and Michael Abels’ Pulitzer Prize-winning new opera, Omar.
Aaron earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Winthrop University and his Master of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati – College: Conservatory of Music (CCM), where he studies with Tom Baresel and renowned helden-tenor Stuart Skelton. Aaron will complete his Artist Diploma at CCM this May.
