Founded in 2006, Opera Naples is a professional, community-focused opera company presenting world-class performances, educational programs and community outreach. Named Best Performing Arts Group by Gulfshore Life, we produce a dynamic season of operas and concerts at the Wang Opera Center and the annual Festival Under the Stars in Baker Park. Our programs include educational outreach, a Resident Artists initiative and the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation Opera Naples International Voice Competition.

Artistic Administrator

Position Summary:
The Artistic Administrator is an integral member of the Opera Naples Artistic Team, supporting the Executive Director, Artistic and Music Director and Director of Education & Community Outreach and overseeing administrative, operational and artistic coordination for all Opera Naples productions. This role serves as the primary point of contact for artistic inquiries and ensures seamless execution of programs, rehearsals and performances. This position shall comply with the artistic, technical and musical guidelines provided by the Artistic and Music Director to ensure the quality of Opera Naples productions.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative & Artistic/Production Coordination

  • Support the Artistic and Music Director with all administrative and artistic/proudction duties
  • Serve as primary artistic contact for Opera Naples staff, artists and community inquiries
  • Coordinate artist schedules with the Production Team and create detailed itineraries for internal and external activities
  • Collaborate with Executive Director to provide artist materials for promotion
  • Manage communications and auditions for supernumeraries and walk-on roles for all mainstage productions
  • Prepare production paysheets and coordinate Principal Artist comp ticket requests
  • Collect and format all artistic and production information (bios, photos, program content) for program books and marketing materials

Rehearsal & Performance Support

  • Serve as an on-site artistic liaison during rehearsals and performances to respond to inquiries and resolve issues in consultation with Artistic and Music Director
  • Communicate schedules, rehearsal plans contact information sheets and other relevant information to artists and staff
  • Assist with Festival Under the Stars production logistics, including orchestra and park setup, costume handling and general production support
  • Takes musical notes for the Artistic and Music Director when required

Education & Community Programs

  • Collaborate on the selection and support of Resident Artists and Academy program participants
  • Support artists in rehearsals, community engagement and program development
  • Represent Opera Naples at community events with an artistic focus

Music Administrator Duties:

  • Order and manage scores, CDs and rehearsal materials
  • Coordinate audition notices, scheduling and communications
  • Liaise with guest conductors, directors and singers
  • Assist in rehearsal scheduling, supertitle preparation and auditions

Orchestra Responsibilities:

  • Schedule orchestra rehearsals and coordinate facilities as required in collaboration with Orchestra Manager and Artistic and Music Director
  • Manage orchestra budget and related communications

Additional Duties

  • Assist with the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation Opera Naples International Voice Competition and Academy, as well as new program development
  • Participate in the selection of the candidates for the Competition
  • Attend regular Artistic and Production Team meetings and adjust schedule to support select Opera Naples events
  • Serve as 24/7 emergency contact during active production periods
  • Other duties as assigned
