Charles Buttigieg 

Baritone Charles Buttigieg  is from Gozo, Malta. A scholarship from the BOV 
Joseph Calleja Foundation allowed him to further his musical pursuits in the United States, and in 2018 he began his studies at the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, PA where he performed such roles as Masetto in Don Giovanni, Mr. Fogg in Sweeney Todd and Spirit in Dido and Aeneas.  In November 2019, he debuted as Figaro in the Barber of Seville at the Opera Philadelphia, Kimmel Center.  In 2021, Charles was a featured performer in a televised concert with the Maltese Philharmonic Orchestra and legendary soprano Diana Damrau. In September 2021 he was an Encouragement Award winner in the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition.  Charles has also shared the stage with the acclaimed tenor Joseph Calleja in concert at the 2022 Opera Naples Festival Under the Stars.
