
Maria Zouves
Maria Zouves is a singer, educator, director, producer and writer. She is President of the Sherrill Milnes VOICE Programs − VOICExperience and the Savannah VOICE Festival – which she co-founded with her husband, Sherrill Milnes, that mentors artists and audiences in the vocal arts. Maria directs many of the events in the VOICE Programs, including operas such as Michael Ching’s Alice Ryley and Mozart’s Don Giovanni at the Savannah VOICE Festival (SVF). She’s directed Don Giovanni and Le nozze di Figaro at the Estates Theatre in Prague and most recently Giovanni again with the SVF and Opera Tampa, where she served as VP and Associate General Director of the company from 2007 to 2011. The Greek American soprano has sung leading roles in the regional U.S., and orchestral concerts globally, making her Carnegie Hall debut in 1997. She has recorded under the VAI label and performed in the title role of the premiere of Ching’s Anna Hunter. She has recently recorded her second album entitled Everything. Maria writes for the music and most recently, the culinary world, as she pursues becoming a chef in Holistic Wellness and Nutrition. Now a sought-after clinician in career development, she has aided young singers through her former feature, “A Conversation with…” in Classical Singer magazine and now with “Food for Life,” an ongoing culinary feature in the Tampa Bay Magazine. She is a frequent guest lecturer and performer at Canyon Ranch in Lenox, Massachusetts.
